Photography of Link Bridge in Stockport Precinct

This photograph of the link bridge spanning the pedestrian shopping precinct in Stockport's Merseyway Shopping Centre was shot for a promotional leaflet for Stockport council to encourage shoppers to visit the centre. The Merseyway centre is very popular and attracts shoppers from all over the region

As the bridge had interesting curving shapes and patterns (part of the water reflections theme) I decided to photograph the bridge from below to accentuate the distortion. The twisted angles are very effective and conducive to good creative architectural photography. Because of the orientation of the sun, I made sure to take the photograph with the sun behind me to maximise the contrast. The cloud formations in the blue sky helps to add interest.
