Mottram Church, Mottram in Longdendale, is a very picturesque Norman Church in Cheshire set on a hill top and can be seen for miles around. When the fist snow of the winter fell, I rushed up to get a photograph before the snow all melted and parked myself in the chilly church yard waiting for the snow to stop so I could get a good photograph of the wintry scene.

Sometimes when shooting snowy scenes, the whiteness of the snow can bleach out and details, particularly when there is bright sunlight beaming down. For this exterior photograph, the sky was quite dark and using a tripod was necessary, but metal tripods get pretty cold in the snow and ice so I would reccommend waering gloves when taking photographs in the snow.
