Photography of Tyne Bridge at night Newcastle

This photograph of the Tyne Bridge is one of the few examples of architectural photography shot 'on a whim'. It was photographed from the interior of the Gateshead Hilton Hotel whilst I was there covering a conference event. Whilst passing through the reception during the day I saw the potential for interesting photographic images and went back to the scene at dusk to capture the evening light.

The bridge is reflected in the skimmer pool inside the hotel and the shape of the bridge is echoed in the curve of the pool.

This photograph won a merit in the Architectural photography section of the BIPP NW Regional awards 2009
