This photograph of Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre was commissioned by Kier North West, and forms part of an extensive portfolio of interior and exterior photographic images. It was designed by architects Pringle Richards Sharratt in London and library and adult learning facilities occupy three floors, with views of moorland evident from the large windows.

External architectural photography of an important prestigious building such as Oldham Library has to be undertaken when weather conditions are perfect to enhance the architectural details such as the copper cladding in this photograph on the 'drum' shaped feature which contrasts well against the deep blue cloudless sky.
