Architectural photography of Saighton School, Saighton near Chester

Saighton School, a small Cheshire school built in 1867, finally saw the opening of the long awaited new build classroom and staff room extension this summer. We were commissioned to photograph interior and exterior views of the new classroom extension by clients Harry Faircough Construction. The attractive timber clad extension, designed by architects Pozzoni - link here - http://www.pozzoni.co.uk/news/pozzoni-s-learning-shed-is-top-of-the-class has large opening doors on to a wide deck and has access down via steps into the playground area.

The new building dovetails neatly on to the much older Grade 11 listed section of the school.

The large area of daylight in the new building combined with the additional photographic studio flash to provide an overall high level of light.

A learning resource area in the classroom is lit with natural light.

The stained glass light in the upper part of the gable end, designed by the pupils and dontaed by one of the parents proved a little more difficult to photograph. The picture was taken from the top of a tall pair of stepladders, with no tripod and nothing to lean on!
