Liverpool University Equine Studies Unit External View Client Harry Fairclough Construction

This photograph is an external view of the Equine Unit at the Liverpool University School of Veterinary Studies, on The Wirral. The client was Harry Fairclough Construction in Warrington and the photography was used in their promotional literature.

The client's brief was to try and somehow get across the nature of the building with photography of an external view showing a student leading a horse across the the shot. Both student and horse were willing to help out with modelling and were a little over enthusiastic and kept walking too fast and going out of the picture!

The orientation of the unit was North East so that the photography had to be carried out early in the morning to get the eastern sunlight, and the sun was already off the front when the photograph was taken. The building opposite which had full sun on it, acted as a giant reflector and bounced light into the front shadows.
