Industrial photography of precision engineering company in Liverpool

Denholm Rees O'Donnell, a precision engineering company in Liverpool were updating their website and needed some fresh professional industrial photography. We were commissioned to shoot creative industrial images of the various processes involved in technical fabrication. Their market sectors include Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Food processing, Petrochemicals and Marine.

Inspection and quality control depicted here. It is always a challenge to make fairly mundane pieces of equipment look interesting for photography, and by subtle use of coloured gels, dull grey machinery can come to life.

Turning and small project cell

Large turning machine requiring a little dynamic coloured lighting including a concealed flash unit with blue gel inside the machine to lift the dark areas.

Careful lighting and strategic camera positioning makes the machinery look interesting. Most engineering works are dingey, dark and cluttered, with the machines looking well used so it's up to the careful photographer to only show what needs to be seen and eliminating the less photogenic areas.
