Interior Architectural Photography of Litherland High School, Merseyside

Litherland High School in Merseyside, is a new secondary school, built by clients Kier Northern and provides an innovative new learning environment for pupils and staff alike.

Practical training areas such as The Salon depicted here, are designed to look like shop fronts as a departure from traditional teaching classrooms, and are situated within the atrium. This main full height atrium links the two predominant buildings of the school and is a large airy open space for pupils to socialise, eat and gather during wet weather, and also an area to display artworks.

Refectory has the feel of a cafe or restaurant, and has been brightly designed with primary colours for a contempoary look.

Teaching areas designed on an 'open plan' idea with galleried levels are colour coded and picked out in bright colours.
