Floral Pavillion New Brighton Photography
Internal View of Floral Hall New Brighton for Kier NW
This photograph of the auditorium at the Floral Pavillion was taken the week before it opened. It is a well designed and tastefully finished theatre auditorium with plush seating and subdued lighting, it photographed very well and was conducive to creative images. The Floral Hall is located on The Wirral right next to the estuary with spectacular views.
The building photography of the interiors shows off the interesting design and subtle lighting which enhances the image. The interior photograph was lit with ambient lighting plus additional flash lighting on a time exposure. Architectural photography of this type involves controlling the lighting and avoiding 'hot spots' from exisiting spotlights and fluorescent tubes.
The Floral Pavilion is north facing and as such has limited scope for sunlit daytime photography. Despite being commissioned to shoot the building on completion in December (in time for the Panto season!) I persevered and made a return trip on a sunny June evening when the sun was highest.
The resulting images with their long shadows create an interesting effectand made it worth the second trip!
