Interior views of contemporary new house near Buxton Derbyshire
These images form part of a portfolio of photographs commissioned by Jennings Design Associates, architects in Denton, of a new build private house near Buxton in Derbyshire. The house , built on the site of a former small garage, had to fit into a tight L shaped plot and was set into the hillside. Because of the sloped terrain, the front door and reception area has no daylight so the srchitects have used light wells and glass ceiling panels to allow extra daylight in from above.
The hallway has a very contempoary feel with a stylish glass bannister stairwell and intersting use of downlighters for dramatic effect. The photograph was lit using a combination of daylight from above, uplighters, downlighters and concealed flash units.
The kitchen on the first floor had more natural lighting from the large doors to a deck area outside.
