B&Q Store Rotherham photography
Photography of new B&Q store in Rotherham - client Henry Boot Developments
This commercial photograph was commissioned by property developers for promotional purposes. The photography was undertaken on a rare cloudless day with deep blue skies which contrast against the metallic cladding of the B&Q store. When photographing pale coloured buildings of this nature, a better effect is had with the use of a polarising filter which darkens down the sky and enriches the colour within the image.
Often, the most interesting angle for the architectural photographer to select when photographing an ordinary rectangular industrial unit of this nature, is the 'square on' approach adopted here. The block colour effect on the cladding stands out well in terms of contrast along with the trademark orange of all the B&Q branding. The cars in the foreground of the building give scale to the photograph.
