Photographs of Hilton Hotel Liverpool One

This photograph was one of a series of photographs of the new showpiece Hilton Hotel in Liverpool for Kier Build who undertook the construction. The Hotel is a very impressive curved shape designed by Aedas Architects and is in the heart of Liverpool One with stunning views of the Albert Dock and the Mersey estuary. The exterior dusk photograph here shows the hotel reflected in the water pools from the adjacent Chavasse Park, a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. The whole area links in with the shopping centre by means of pedestrian walkways photographed here.

The reception of the hotel contains a sweeping glass staircase which was underlit to set off the colour of the glass and a myriad of shall glass ball lights hanging by the hundred from the lofty ceiling. When undertaking the photography, a high set of steps was used to gain some height in the tall entrance. The use of marble, metallic finishes and polished plaster added to the creative effect and enhanced the photographs with their highly reflective surface. Concealed photographic flash lighting helped to lift the darker areas and raise the light level.
