This photograph of Formby Swimming Pool was taken for client Spring and Co a project management firm in Stockport, Cheshire. The building, which won awards for it's design and construction is clad in English oak and copper, which will gradually weather and mature with the park that surrounds it. Internally, on the structure and cladding, the wood is from certified sustainable sources.

The brief for photography of the interior was to try and highlight all the wood cladding on the walls and ceiling whilst showing the context of the wood. It was photographed just after it was open to customers early in the morning, before the tiles became too wet, but when it was light enough outside. Hand flash guns were used for fill in effect.
